Good evening and welcome to The British Deer Society

Sightings of Endangered Huemul Deer

A team of scientists have managed to capture for the first time images of a dozen endangered South Andean deer, known as "huemul", in an area in the Chilean Patagonia where they had never been sighted.

With fewer than 2000 of these magnificent creatures left, securing their habitat via a wildlife corridor is urgent. Monitoring is part of our ongoing work with Puelo Patagonia and National Geographic Society.
