PHOTOGRAPHIC TOUR AT WADHURST PARK 2011

In contrast to last year's torrential rain, our photographic tour on October 9^th was blessed with good weather.  Some 18 members and friends turned up at Wadhurst Park where we were taken round in the comfort of the trailer. It was nice to have some young photographers with us. We all enjoyed seeing the magnificent Red deer and some great photos were taken of a stag roaring on top of the hill. The Barasingha were mixed in with the Reds this year and the Pere David, as usual, were standing in the lake. We saw some of the Manchurian sika and the spectacular fallow bucks resting under the trees but most of the fallow were skittish and would not stand around for us.

We enjoyed tea and cakes afterwards and all were encouraged to enter their photos for our branch competition which George Trebinski kindly offered to judge for us.

We received donations amounting to £60 for the branch.

Many thanks to Neil Brooks and Peter Leach for arranging this excellent tour around the Wadhurst estate and taking us round to see the deer.
