Cirencester

Dear Sir
A couple of friends and I have just completed our DSC1 following our attendance at the BDS run course by Mike Bagnowiec at the Cirencester RAC. I wanted to let you know that we thought the entire course and the way it was run by Mike was fantastic.
There was a huge spectrum of experience amongst the course candidates and each of them had different reasons for doing the DSC1 but many of us discussed amongst ourselves how well Mike and his fellow tutors presented the course - making it relevant, interesting, approachable, enjoyable but sufficiently serious all at the same time.
The extra effort they went to to obtain the roe bucks on the morning of our carcass inspection lesson was hugely appreciated and irreplaceable in terms of learning. It gave some the opportunity to properly handle a beast in an environment conducive to learning for the first time.
In addition, the range day at Severnside was extremely well run. I felt safe throughout the entire session and admired the way everyone involved did their part to make a serious responsibility go smoothly.
You have a wonderful team doing a fantastic job there.
AH

Wadhurst
The course I found to be clear, concise and of great benefit particularly as to the presentation of each section. At a steady learning pace and Q&A at the end of each section I found beneficial. Good all round course. Greatly appreciated.
PS
I wanted to drop a line to say how impressed I was with this 4 day course. CH provided us an excellent series of lectures and was always happy to answer our 5 million questions or help students with a problem. The support staff also were incredibly helpful in their attitude and this helped relax many students...especially on the final day.
Please pass my thanks to the entire team for their great effort, incredible patience, and friendly attitude. There was a great pass rate and this is an indication of the quality of the course and especially the very good BDS manual which we all found very readable.
CM
Firstly would you kindly pass on my regards and a huge thank you to C and his team.
The four days were presented and run to perfection, with all the relevant information readily available and C is a encyclopaedia of experience and a wealth of information, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole course from beginning to end.

Bardwell

An excellent, informative and well organised course. Thank you.

BT

H & D were fantastic course leaders. Their knowledge and passion for all things "deer" did nothing but enthuse. Thank you.

BC

The course was excellent. All instruction was excellent and it was nice that the instructors did not make the course boring and they had a good sense of humour.

ST

The course has beenthoroughly enjoyable and has developed my knowledge well. A great bunch of guys and some humour from D and the subject matter pitched at just the right level. Thanks for a great course, I'll be looking forward to progressing to Level 2.

RJ

Excellent course. A must for any individual owning a firearm with intentions of shooting deer. The knowledge of the instructors was very impressive and I have obtained excellent skills and confidence in all subjects covered.

AS

Laggan
Really fantastic courseand great tuition.

HD

Having highly experienced trainers who clearly have a huge breadth of knowledge is highly valuable and makes the course highly credible. Thank you for the very hard work and excellent preparation and presentation.

WBW

Ilkley

DSC1 has been a very informative course with the instructors being very knowledgable and their instruction superb.

DS

More practical shooting instructionshould be included - examples of shots, field craft skills etc.

JF

Andover

Well organised, administered and delivered course.

Anon

Too cheap! Maybe fair for the rec shooters but for professionals costs are too low. Interactive disc questions too obvious by species as the answer is often the species name.

IPad version of the UDD would have been great and will be very popular soon.

BL

The course was exceptionally well structured and taught.

I would have found the identification assessment more user friendly if, rather thanpresented on a projector, the photos had been issued to individual candidates in the form of a question paper.

Revision aids may also have been beneficial for mental ordering of contant learnt.

MMdF

Classroom lectures were given by CH who did the whole three days on his own. To assist him it may have been better if another instructor had been available. That is not to take anything away from C, he did a grand job. I just think that with another instructor present some topics could have developed more discussion. Full marks to C though.
