Deer is the house journal of the Society and includes news on all that is happening in the world of deer, as well as features, product reviews and scientific articles. It also contains membership information and offers, and news from British Deer Society local branches. It is published quarterly in October, January, April and July, and is mailed direct to members of the Society.
The Society exists to promote the welfare and management of the six species of British deer (Roe deer, Fallow deer, Red deer, Muntjac deer, Sika deer, Chinese water deer) and it's training department provides the most comprehensive and respected training courses in the sector.
Recent features have included "There are Muntjac at the Bottom of my garden", "Assessing Deer Activity and Damage in Woodlands", "Red Deer and Alpine Habitats" and "Hybridisation between Red and Sika deer in Scotland".
Members include those involved with deer on both a professional and recreational basis, and form a large percentage of all the active deer stalkers and managers in the UK. Advertisers choosing to promote their products in the pages of Deer receive unrivalled access to over 6,000 members of the British Deer Society. The readership extends to more than 12,400 individuals if complimentary copies and secondary readers are included.
